INGENCat

The objective of the ANR’s INGENCat Project is the development and understanding of innovative catalysts for the valorization of furfural through heterogeneously catalyzed and photocatalytic processes.

Gathering the experience of several French research institutions, this collaborative work aims to develop a new concept of catalysts consisting of oxide-coated nanoparticles, and provide fundamental understanding regarding the materials’ properties and their (photo-)catalytic application.

The Laboratory of Chemistry and Physics (Institute de Chimie Physique, ICP, Paris) contributes with its experience in the preparation of core-shell nanostructures and their photocatalytic application. The Laboratory of Catalysis and Solid State Chemistry (Unité de Catalyse et Chimie du Solide, UCCS, Lille) focuses on the study of these materials in heterogeneously catalyzed processes. The advanced characterization of the materials and DFT modelling are carried out by the IRCELYON (Lyon) and the Chemistry Laboratory (Laboratoire de Chimie de l’ENS de Lyon), respectively.
